Into the Wild Rajasthan 2.0

Jawai and Ranakpur, Mewar & Marwar, Rajasthan · 2–6 Sep 2026

Five days in the wilder Rajasthan of Mewar and Marwar: tribal communities, two wildlife safaris and the Gavri festival.

Some journeys deserve a second chapter. After our first season in the wild, we returned with new trails and deeper experiences.

This is Rajasthan beyond the postcards: ancient hills where leopards roam, shepherds who know every bend of the land, and tribal traditions that continue quietly. Around Jawai and Ranakpur we spent time with tribal communities, crossed two very different landscapes on safari and witnessed the Gavri, often called the world’s biggest open-air theatre.

No rush, no checklists. Evenings ended around a campfire with music, stories and the kind of conversations that stay with you.

What made this journey special

  1. Time with tribal communities and their way of life
  2. Two wildlife safaris across two distinct landscapes
  3. The Gavri tribal festival
  4. Hidden forest drives and offbeat trails
  5. Campfire evenings with music and stories
